Peugeot-2021-New-Black.pngHow to Replace an audi a1 key G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician shows you how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. The sensor Replacement Audi A4 Key is located near the transmission's edge, above the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the outside of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends an electrical signal through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate boost and fuel. It also sends an indication to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to connect the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and where the camshaft lies to trigger the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and could indicate the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. However, the code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It's a bit tricky to test because there are various pins on the connector and they all have different functions. The most effective method to test it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a significant drop in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, 3 were soaked with gazoline and the fourth was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I get zero ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it runs fine with the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars while the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not certain what to do, but i think i've pretty much ruled out everything else. But i'm worried that I may have missed something. Let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump of the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate the spare in a salvage shop or a parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure the resistance between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's side). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines must know the speed and position of the crankshaft to determine fuel injector timing, etc. In order to do this it utilizes a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If either of these goes badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner that could cause engine shut down.

The signs of a failed G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter for the gearbox the gears are shifting faster than normal, and/or a misfire when you're in gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues it is likely your sensor is going bad and requires replacement audi key cost uk. They're inexpensive and easy to locate particularly if they're an Bosch sensor like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part would be an option.

5. Tachometer

A damaged engine sensor could cause a number of problems within your vehicle. It's an essential component of the transmission in your audi key fobs since it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's engine is spinning. This sensor could cause the transmission to malfunction and other components in the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is situated on the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear and transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU uses this signal to control the flow of fuel and boost and also timig. It also sends it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test for sensor failure by checking continuity from the sensor to the tachometer. Also, you can check continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79trace [79]), and between pin T6a/1 as well as pin T26a/12. You should see around 1000 ohms of resistance between those points. This is a common feature across the audi car keys replacement 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging beginning with the 1985 MC and up to the 1997 UrS An and 1995 RS2 DU So, you may find good ones in wrecking yards.holding-car-keys-woman-in-formal-clothes-is-indoo-2021-12-27-15-52-03-utc-min-scaled.jpg
