3 Wheel All Terrain Pushchair

A pushchair that is all-terrain and offers outstanding maneuverability will work whether you are looking for a buggy for walking in the woods or for taking a stroll along the high street. These models typically come with large wheels and suspension systems that provide an easy ride on rough terrain.

Many are suitable for babies and come with seats that can be set flat or a newborn carrycot. They also usually have foam-filled tyres that are never flat to help with maintenance.

Suspension

A quality all-terrain pushchair should have an excellent suspension that has been designed to be extra smooth and comfortable on rough terrain. This will make your child feel relaxed and at ease. The wheels are typically large and puncture-proof, preventing damage caused by sharp rocks or sharp sticks.

The larger tyres can help you to tackle more challenging terrain with ease, with some all-terrain pushchairs even offering additional tyres to switch between to suit different conditions. Certain all-terrain strollers feature an swivel wheel that can be locked to offer stability, or left unlocked to permit greater manoeuvrability.

Certain all-terrain strollers have a brake handbrake lockable that is easy to reach by hand. This is better than an ordinary pedal on the handlebars. This is a great option if you're a fan of steep hills.

There is a broad selection of all-terrain pushchairs with three wheels available that offer an excellent off road capability. They are great if you reside in the countryside or take a walk on uneven, rough terrain. They are typically more durable and durable than a standard pushchair, and come with features like large puncture-proof wheels to handle the most difficult of surfaces. They are usually quite wide, and can be tricky to manoeuvre in tight spaces or aisles in shops.

The seat of an all-terrain buggy can either be facing the world or towards the parent and grows with your child, from newborn to toddler (it's suitable from 6 months). Wheels

All-terrain pushchairs are essential when you live in a rural area or take your child for regular walks through rough terrain. These models typically have bigger back wheels than standard pushchairs which makes them better in handling rough off-road terrain, and ensuring the most comfortable ride for your child. Many also come with a robust suspension and puncture-proof models so that they're suitable for use on grass, woodland or paths through the forest, gravel tracks and market town cobbles.

Certain all-terrain strollers come with a lockable wheel at the front, which gives extra stability while walking over rough terrain or over high kerbs. Some models have swivel front wheels which allow you to manoeuvre the buggy more easily when changing direction or turning corners.

It also features a fantastic suspension and large rear wheels that are puncture resistant and ideal for off-road use or jogging (once your child is of the appropriate age). It is also suitable for children from birth and can be used with a carrycot or a lie-flat chair.

Another option is the iCandy Peach All-Terrain, which features large tyres as well as only a single steering 3 wheel jogger in the front. It's not as versatile as the other pushchairs with all-terrain capabilities on this list, but it can handle the terrain that is hilly and has an expansive, one-handed fold which is ideal if you plan to use the pushchair for long walks or trips to the countryside. It's also suitable for babies and has a large sun canopy that can be extended and some great parent-friendly features such as a brake pedal that is easy to use with an adjustable handlebar as well as a generously spacious basket.

Stores

There are excellent all-terrain pushchairs designed for parents who are looking to take their children off-road, but do not want to tackle Ben Nevis. They are the best of both. Look for a model with good all-terrain capability, sturdy suspension, and large puncture-proof wheels but designed in the traditional pushchair style, with reversible seats and full carrycot options.

UPPAbaby's well-known Ridge all-terrain pushchair is a great example of this. It provides excellent suspension, a simple fold, and a large 10kg basket, but it also comes with parent-friendly features including an adjustable handlebar, a hand-operated brake on the right-hand side and a large, covered storage space. The hood can be taken off and washed using cool soapy-water to keep out mould and mildew.

If you plan to take your all-terrain stroller off road and on the road, you should consider air-filled tires rather than rubber grips. They'll provide a more comfortable ride on rough ground and will be more maneuverable in tight spaces. If you are planning to use your all-terrain stroller for occasional jogging, make sure the front wheel is able to swivel or features a quick release mechanism to lock it in place for greater stability.

To keep the fabrics in pristine condition, ensure that they can be machine-washed. If not, a spot cleaning with warm water and a small amount of mild soap will suffice. The fabric can be dried thoroughly outside to avoid mould or mildew.

The majority of our three wheeled all terrain pushchairs are able to be used from birth.
