Just walking alone didn't motivate me and it was hard to keep going, so I decided to try using a pedometer app.

The first app I tried was Trima.

This app allows you to watch a commercial every 1,000 steps, and you get 0.6 yen for watching one commercial, and 1 yen if you're lucky.

You can watch up to 10 commercials a day, so you walk every day with the goal of 10,000 steps.

In addition to that, you can accumulate bonus coins, which you can use to play slot games.

If you line up the pictures on the slots, you can win 1 yen, 5 yen, 10 yen, or 50 yen.

It may seem like a small amount, but it's a little bit of money.

I started six months ago.

Once I saved up 1,000 yen, I withdrew it to Rakuten Bank.

My current cumulative distance traveled is 347 km, my cumulative steps are 1,859,466 steps, and my cumulative miles earned are 148,095 miles.

100,000 miles equals 1,000 yen.
