If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate a chain stretch or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. However, the code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit tricky because there are two connector pins and they serve different purposes however the best method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read around 1000 ohms when the sensor is in full operation. Examine for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, i experienced massive power loss like the engine is running out of gas or injectors aren't firing any more. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs. Three were soaked with gazoline and the fourth one was dry. When I crank the engine without sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay shut. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is not plugged in and runs fine when it is connected but it still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c even when i unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! TIA!

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily find a spare in a wrecking shop or a parts store. Test them out to do - just put your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's end).
